The mother has passed pregnancy week 24, significant period indeed! The infant continues to develop more proportional every day passes. It is during pregnancy week 24 unborn’s organ and other body sub-systems continue to get matured as do the CNS (central nervous system), excretory system and even reproductive and circulatory systems. During pregnancy at 24th week, the infant's lungs are also prepare to form little branches and will gradually begin producing special substance known as surfactant. The amniotic fluid that surrounds the infant begins to increase in volume after 24th week of pregnancy. This will continue until delivery when the womb holds up to two pints of amniotic fluid.
An important organ of the mother, the uterus will continue to grow at pregnancy week 24 now 1½-2” above the umbilicus and some of the expecting mothers are surprised that once upon a time, when she was proud of her flat abdomen is now bulged and she cannot see her thighs easily!
The infant has less and less room for moving in uterus after she is about in pregnancy week 24. The mother should feel strong kicks by 24th week of pregnancy, but eventually the infant’s movements will begin to seem dumber and more rhythmic as compared to all over the place and remember this is quite normal. Though the infant’s first kick and movement will seem random, bit-by-bit the infant will kick regularly and the mother will observe patterns of alertness and sleeping all during the day. Most of the expecting mothers enjoy each and every kick she feels i.e. enjoying infant's gymnastics. It might look hard to digest but the mother will miss these feelings of her infant moving around inside her once she gives birth to baby.
