There are a lot of things to consider when throwing a beach party, particularly the legalities of it, if you are actually planning on throwing it on the beach itself. There are laws protecting habitat and wildlife, so you may want to check with local law enforcement before planning your beach party.
Typically, beach parties are ideas that come up at the last minute, and a great way to get together with friends without spending a great deal of money. Most everything that is needed for the party can be found within the household, so no extra shopping is needed to prepare for the party. Unless it is less of a casual affair, in which case, you will need proper planning.
Try to make the beach party as environmentally friendly as you can. Bring plenty of trash bags to collect up the mess you make, so that it doesn’t end up in the water and harm innocent animals. And keep an eye on partygoers to make sure they are using those trash bags. Most beaches have strict laws against littering and you don’t want anyone going home in a police car!
When you invite everyone, tell them to bring their own blanket or towels, so that furniture won’t be a problem. After all, it is the beach so you really don’t need anything to sit on except a towel.
You can also have guests bring their own food and drink, making planning a bit easier on you, particularly if it is a last minute party.
If you are going to build a bonfire, most definitely check with law enforcement prior to doing so, as some beaches have laws prohibiting the building of fires on shorelines. If you are at a lake or river side, the rules may be a bit more relaxed, but still should be adhered to.
Whatever your plans, throwing a beach party is a great way to hang out with friends under the stars. Just be sure to leave it as pristine as when you arrived. No one likes a dirty beach.
