Planning a beach party or a beach themed party? Here are some great tips on how to decorate.
Luaus are popular theme for beach parties, if not the most popular. Beach party decorations are available at most party supply stores, so decorating is a snap. You simply need to walk down the aisles and choose what you want to use.
Hawaiian shirts are everywhere, so dressing for the occasion is a breeze. And you may even get that crazy guest who will show up in a grass skirt and coconut bra top. Luaus work best at a location near water, either a pool or natural water. If anyone is an experienced smoker, you can have an old fashion pig roast. Any sort of tropical recipe will work for this buffet.
Inflatable palm trees and pink flamingos are always welcomed at beach parties, since they are reminiscent of the beach itself. Some people have even placed inflatable kiddie swimming pools around for added beach party decorations.
You can go as crazy with the beach party decorations as you want. Like the beach, you can never have too much. Some people bring in stuffed animal monkeys to adorn the inflatable trees; others will put coconuts on the half shell on table tops.
If you are inside, it is probably best not to drag in beach sand, unless you have a great way of cleaning it up. While beach sand is one of the best beach party decorations to have, it is terribly hard to clean up, even when it is housed in something.
Tiki torches are other great items to use, if you are outside. If you are inside, you can put them up, but it is best if they remain unlit during the party and kept there for decoration purposes only.
But mostly, have fun with your decorating. The more invested you are in decorating, the more your guests will feel they are out on the beach, having a good time in the sand.
