Most baby shower decorations can be purchased at a local party supply or department store. With decorations being readily available, all you need to do is pick the appropriate decorations for the party.
If the sex of the child is known to the mother to be prior to the shower, choose decorations which are gender color appropriate. Baby blue and baby pink baby shower decorations are readily available most anywhere. If the sex of the child is still unknown and going to be a surprise, you can decorate in multiple pastel colors, including baby blue and baby pink, with light yellow and pale green as accent colors. Or you can simply use the color the mother to be happens to like. Just plan the event with the stipulation that this is her celebration, so design the decorations around her likes.
Another cute idea is to use baby blocks as decorations. Building blocks on table tops add a bit of childlike whimsy to the decor. Get creative and make baby diapers out of folded linen napkins, or use baby blankets as table cloths. If you have a specific theme to the baby shower chosen outfit the baby shower decorations around that. Such as, if you have a baby toy themed baby shower, have bouquets of different baby toys, and then give the decorations to the mother to be when she leaves. Or if the mother to be doesn’t want them, donate them to a local charity.
Hanging real cloth or disposable diapers with color tipped diaper pins on a clothing line is a cute addition to any room. Make sure the mother to be takes them home! She can use them. The possibilities are endless, just be creative!
We all know that budgets can get tight, but it doesn’t mean you can’t get creative. Try to make the decorations both versatile and enchanting. And decorations don’t just have to be decorations. Give them a function too. By using items that the mother to be can use when the baby arrives you can save on money and also better prepare the guest of honor.
