Traveling with a baby can be a challenging task. But with some pre-planning and a check list of baby traveling accessories this task can be simplified.
First and foremost you need a baby car seat. These days’ markets have some smart baby travel systems which are a combination of car seat, stroller and bed. So you can attach and detach the car seat with the baby in it without disturbing his\her sleep.
You will also need a baby travel bag for carrying diapers, bottle, formula, water\juice and baby toys. The baby bag should have a waterproof lining and a shoulder strap. Carry some plastic bags to dispose of dirty diapers.
Since baby’s sleep a lot, it is advisable to carry a baby bed along. People you are visiting or the hotel you are staying in may not have a bed suitable for your baby. If you take your own baby bed you’ll know that your baby is safe and comfortable.
Checklist of baby traveling accessories:
- You will need one nappy for each hour of transit plus a few extra for emergencies.
- Take more food formula than you think you’ll need for the entire trip as there can be travel delays. And keep some energy-boosting snacks handy for yourself.
- Take at least one blanket along for shade, comfort and warmth.
- Carry some baby wipes and a nappy rash cream.
- Since babies are prone to sun burn carry a sun screen lotion with at least SPF 20.
- A light weight baby sling can come-in handy.
- Carry a night light for night-time feeds and diaper change.
- Carry a small plastic changing mat to place it under your baby while changing her nappy.
