Baby bottle warmer is an electronic gadget that helps you heat baby food without resorting to a stove or a microwave. It is a convenient option for you if your baby likes her breast-milk or formula food warmed.

Benefits of baby bottle warmer

  • It keeps the liquid in the bottle at constant temperature.
  • You are saved from the hassle of constantly checking whether the contents are warm enough or are too hot.
  • It heats the contents of the bottle evenly, unlike in a microwave where some spots may be too hot.

Types of baby bottle warmers

There is a variety of bottle warmers available in the market and you can pick one that suits your needs the most. There are warmers that switch-off automatically when the milk is heated to the right temperature. There are some that you can use in the car as well by attaching them to the cigarette lighter of your car. Some bottle warmers come with a cooler space where you can keep an extra bottle ready to use for night-time feed.

You can also pick a chemical bottle warmer in which a heat releasing liquid warms up baby food.

Choosing the right bottle warmer

  • Select a bottle warmer that will accommodate the types of bottles you intend to use. There are some bottle warmers that don’t hold wide necked bottles or angled bottles.
  • Normally, a bottle warmer takes 4-9 minutes to heat milk. Choose one that heats contents quickly especially if you want to use it for night time feeding.
  • Select one with auto shut-off feature to prevent over-heating of bottles, which is very risky for babies.
  • Pick a bottle warmer with fewer parts to make cleaning easy and effective.

Safety Tip

Buy a standard quality bottle warmer. In some inferior products the heating element gets so hot that it melts the bottle.
