Miley Cyrus’s Parents Split

Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife Trish, parents of teen singing sensation Miley Cyrus have confirmed that they are now divorced officially. The couple went through the separation proceedings at the Williamson Chancery Court in Tennessee and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. They also thanked their supporters and well wishers for their prayers and support during this difficult time. 

The couple have five children together, the most famous one of them being Miley Cyrus ,who gained fame after portraying Hannah Montana in a Disney series for television by the same name. In the show, Miley is a normal, high school going teenager by day but transforms into a pop star by night. Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus featured in the TV series toghether and Billy Ray Cyrus played the role of Hannah Montana’s dad.

The program became extremely popular and had a large fan following of teenagers. Miley shot to fame with the hit TV series and has never looked back and is totally devoting herself to her singing career now. Both her albums, “Breakout” and “Best of both worlds” have found a devoted female fan following and have fixed Miley in the lists of top music sensations.

Miley’s first tryst with the box office came when a film based on her travels and music tours around the world titled “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour” was released and raked in more than $70 million at theatres around the world. A sequel to this movie, “Hannah Montana: The Movie” was soon released and it brought in a whopping $150 million in box office collections worldwide.

Miley has had her fair share of controversies too. Her raunchy pictures in a photo shoot for Vanity Fair magazine were decried by many as being too overtly sexual in nature for a girl who had built up her reputation playing a teenager on screen. Her videos have also been at the receiving end of bad publicity due to Miley’s racy moves in the videos aimed at teenage audience.

Billy Ray Cyrus rose to fame with his hit “Achy Breaky Heart” released in 1992. He adopted wife Trish’s children Traci and Brandi, which she had from a previous marriage.
