Vitamin ‘C’ helps us avoid the common cold and is many times also known as ascorbic acid.  Other benefits of vitamin C, if you include it in your daily foods, are that it’ll help the body grow and build up properly. You can take it easily according to your daily requirements, because vitamin C is found in our everyday foods.

Vitamin C has many healthy benefits: it helps you build up bodily tissues and stronger bones. It also works as an antioxidant in the body, helping to fight off any damage caused by free radicals, which increase in the body and reduce its immune function, building up danger of heart disease, cancer and diabetes. It also helps delay the effects of growing old.

You should take only eight grams of vitamin C every twenty minutes at the start of the common cold and you are sure to find relief.

Vitamin C is also an important factor in the formation of collagen; it is that element which cares for the proper development of our tendons, ligaments, blood vessels in our bodies and also heals scar tissues.  You’ll also want vitamin C in your daily diet for growth of bone tissues and cartilage as this also lessens the risk of stress fractures or osteoporosis.

If you are worried about your iron levels then vitamin C will do a very good job of absorbing iron taken orally. You can take iron supplements along with eating foods that are full of vitamin C.

You can easily get vitamin C in some fruits and eat them daily; these include fresh oranges, papayas, tomatoes, berries and strawberries. Also try generous servings of leafy greens and sweet potatoes besides other vitamin C rich foods like brightly colored vegetables and other fruits that are its best sources. For adults, a daily dose of ninety mg of vitamin C is suggested additionally for optimum health.
