Treat your back pain with yoga
Back pain is one of the worst problems an individual can face. Those who suffer back pain have to be patient in their treatments. Most take to bed rest, which doesn’t help the problem.
Several studies reveal that those who take to bed instead of getting involved in physical activity are slower to recover from the problem while those who participate in physical activity recover more quickly.
One should always be considerate of one’s back. Several experts suggest that one start exercise programs within two to three days of feeling pain.
Recommendations for back pain
Most doctors believe that exercise is the best remedy. They recommend a combination of mild stretching and swimming, cycling or walking. Those with back pain should workout for about half an hour three to five days a week.
The exercise program should be mild to moderate to ensure that the back isn’t injured. Doctors advise against high intensity workout programs like aerobics, racket sports, and various team events.
Tai Chi and Yoga
People who suffer from chronic lower back pain can practice tai chi to avoid further pain or supplement their current back care program. Those patients who practice tai chi note a significant reduction in pain within six weeks.
Patients should focus on avoiding impact; a no-sweat workout option is best, and that is what tai chi is. The other option one can try is practicing yoga.
Yoga is a theme or discipline where various postures are practiced to treat diseases. More and more people are trying yoga to achieve the maximum benefits and reduce the symptoms of the condition.
Yoga generally refers to mild actions that are intended to build power and promote flexibility. While yoga is beneficial for the mind, it can also be practiced to treat back pain. However before starting any exercise plan consult your doctor.
