Lots of men do not discuss marriage with their girlfriends. Without knowing the answer they buy an engagement ring only to get hurt. So know beforehand how the girl will react.
Unless you want to surprise her, it is better to take her along while buying the engagement ring, as she has to wear the ring forever. It is better to buy a ring of her choice, as it is once in a lifetime thing. Before preparing for a grand wedding, the first thing you have to do is to insure the engagement ring.
Though it is not in vogue these days, it is better to ask the permission from the bride’s father before proposing to the girl. Olden days Romans gave the bride’s father a coin symbolizing the purchase of the bride.
If you want your marriage proposal to be a surprise, try not telling anyone though it is very difficult to keep it as a secret. Of course, the girl’s father will know, as you will be asking his permission.
Even if you tell someone who is close to you make sure he/she doesn’t tell it to the girl. Get down on bended knee to propose, such proposals are never denied. Such types of proposals are there since the days of prince and knights.
Proposal happens only once in a lifetime so make it very creative and prepare every little element. Make the proposal memorable by taking her to a special place, playing a special song, or doing something special.
Things do not always go the way you want to. So always, have a back up plan. Incase your original plan backfires use the back up.
After accepting the proposal, the first thing she will want to do is to inform the great news to her close friends and relatives. So take a mobile along so that you need not search for payphones there. Otherwise, make sure there is a payphone nearby.
When your girl accepts your proposal make merry. Rejoice the occasion with roses or maybe a romantic candle light dinner or anything, which makes you feel at cloud nine.
