There was a time when sandals were considered to be designed for women. But now things have changed and many designs are available for the men folk too. But, there are some dos and don’ts in the design which would make them more suitable for men to wear.

Grip:

The traditional design of sandal where it is supported by two straps on the side and one in the front, in between the toes, is most uncomfortable, particularly when it is worn for long time.

Instead a design of Cross Strap or ‘X’ design, as it is called, would be most suited. In ‘X’ design two straps on the side cross each other in the middle which gives perfect support.

Havaiana design:

This design is best suited for a walk on the seashore. The design is said to have come from Brazil. This is also called the flip-flap design. This design has many colours and is made of superior material but at the same time is cheaper compared to other sandals.

Quality:

Normally sandals last a long time because they are made of superior quality material. They are economical. They can be used for a walk on the beach or for a casual walk anywhere. Some men will even use them to go shopping. They are best worn with jeans or casual trousers.

Purpose for which it is worn:

Sandals are, of course, weatherproof and can be worn either for a walk or even to go to the office. Many attractive designs of sandals are now available on the market. They are both convenient and water resistant, but for a party, a pair of shoes would be preferable.

Granola Shoe:

These are not water resistant. So, if they get wet, the shoes will start to smell. Although they are available in many designs, in the convenience stakes they fall way behind a shoe or sandal that is water resistant.

Leave it open:

There are some who wear socks and sandals. It is not a good look. In truth, sandals and socks do not match.

Buy only in small quantity:

The reason is quite obvious. Sandals last for a long time. This is because generally people use them for limited purposes and not for long walks or similar strenuous activities. Therefore, they can be purchased as and when they are needed.

It has limited use:

Sandals last for a long time if used for the purpose for which they are designed.

There are times and occasions when something more solid than a sandal is needed. If you are aware of the limitations of the sandal, and know when and where to wear them, there are some great designs available that are masculine, stylish and comfortable.
