Lifeguard style swim trunks offer a younger appearance.  They fall just above the knee and are slightly tighter than the traditional trunk.  Because they are tighter, they feel a little lighter in the water. But the major difference is how they look. They would be great worn to a beach party and it will distinguish you from the other guys.

Surfer or board shorts are for the young and cool. They are popular because they are longer, fit baggier then most trunks and add some style to the water.

Young men like them because they are different from the trunks their fathers wore. Most of them come in cool, colorful patterns and have a mesh lining as well. They look extremely cool with a tank top and make up as daily clothing as well.
