For some one who is into fitness it is important that you learn about such foods so that your body gets a rich source of healthy nutrients. Some people think that off the shelf, protein mixes are just fine, but though they may give you the required nutritional value that you seek, however given the fact that they are contrived mixtures it is better to go natural and have fresh foods instead.

So if this year you are planning to really up your health program here are a few things that you could consider including into your get fitness regime. Changing eating habits is not the easiest thing in the world to achieve, so go into the changes slowly. With time, you will see the many benefits that you will get from these small changes.

Quinoa (pounced as keen-wah) is a popular crop from the Andes. It can be found in several health stores in South Africa and is available in leading stores around the world today. Quinoa is a complete protein food with 15 percent protein something extremely rare in crop yields. Add to this a good dose of wild salmon into your diet. It will give you an excellent dose of vitamin D that is good for your teeth other than omega 3 fatty acids that is good for your complexion. Farm produced salmon is often passed of as wild, so do check this out and insure you are in fact getting wild salmon. A cheaper alternative is rainbow trout if you prefer that.

We have all heard I am sure the great benefits of eating broccoli. Many analysts have told us that this really is a very good super food. It is excellent for promoting your over all goals in fitness. Replace your spinach with broccoli in your next casserole. The advantages are that you will absorb higher levels of oxalates from the vegetable as compared to normal spinach.

Have you come across Goji berries? They are a new breed of pomegranates and are a big craze globally these days. It is said they contain more iron than a steak and are the richest fruit in antioxidants. Green tea is the last super food I will mention.  Green tea speeds up your metabolism and stimulates loss of fat.
