Summer Party Ideas
May 14, 2009
So Summer Holidays are coming up, and you want to throw a memorable party. But what kind of party could you put together that would be enjoyable and stay on the minds and tongues of your guests? A theme party might be just what you’re looking for. It will give you and your partygoers a night of atmosphere and fun, and be something well worth remembering.
Tell your friends to dress in dark suits and elegant dresses. Then give each of them a character to play and create a mobster party. Toy guns hidden away in secret places, gangster families and hushed conversations can provide an enthralling atmosphere for your party. Maybe a gag-gift or secret Santa game would add to the fun!
An idea that is a little more difficult is a hippy party. Get everyone to dress in faded jeans, tie-dyed shirts and long wigs while they talk about the environment and sing protest songs.
It may be a little difficult to get off the ground since the attendees create characters for themselves, but if you can get your friends to agree and get their creative juices flowing, it can make for a great summer party.
Maybe you could organize a Las Vegas themed party. Put together a little casino in your house and break out the cards, dice and roulette wheel! Just remember that wagering real money could be offensive to some, so it would be a good idea to get fake money or tickets that partygoers could exchange for gifts. A few shiny decorations and tree lights can give the proper flashy ambience to any homemade casino.
For those looking for a little mystery during the holidays, you should consider a vampire party or murder mystery. A theme with a little “bite” to it will provide a spooky experience. Everyone gets a character and some participants can disappear to another room for a little while. The rest of the guests have the chance to work out what’s happened to the missing players, who the ultimate culprit may be, and figure out a way to protect themselves. This will certainly add intrigue to any party.
Perhaps a kid party is more your style. Throw a little creativity into the mix, and become a kid again. Your friends can bring toys and children’s games to the party, allowing everyone to pass the hours recapturing a little bit of their youth.
A theme party might seem like hard work, but with vision and creative partygoers to support your idea, unforgettable holiday fun will prove well worth the effort.
