I read lately in the newspaper a writer reflect on the fact that he had just turned 50 years old. He said it had finally donned on him that well, 50 is when you are finally gifted with a bag full of wisdom in life. He said that in the 20 and 30 you are going around looking at the world with this great suspicious eye. Believing and thinking that the world is trying to hide its great secrets from you.
You of course are Mr. Armstrong, who will wrestle the world to reveal it secrets. Now 40 years old and the secrets still elude you and the wife and kids have arm wrestled them selves into your life. With centurions now becoming more common, when 50 comes says the writer, you finally realize (half way) life really is actually a simple game to enjoy. All you need to do is follow some simple guidelines.
That’s the whole problem; no body wants to follow guidelines. We will make are own is the buzz word. And that is when all things go for a ride and by the time, you reach 50 you have lost 30 odd years to sheer foolhardiness. The great Philosopher J. Krishnamurthy was once asked ‘what is the difference between a young person and an older person”. This is what he (J Krishnamurthy) had to say. He says there is no difference except one difference. That difference was that as a young person you can MORE easily develop good habits, vis-à-vis an older person who has got set into a pattern of life. For him to change is far more difficult.
And this is the crux of this article. It is for you to decide. You may not be the 20 year old who can set him self up with good health habits from here on in life, but no matter where in life you are, it is best to make all necessary corrections as soon as possible. There are just some very simple things that you need to do.
For one let’s start at looking after our selves more. That means eating healthier food and not just letting our taste buds decide what we eat, or not eat. We have been given a fantastic body by the creator’s of this world. It is so amazingly adaptable. So even if you have neglected it for some time you can simple rework and restore it to its very prime. The next best thing you can do for your self is begin a simple exercise program. In less than 2 years I guarantee you, a new you.
