Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth
Being on a diet is not an easy feat, especially when you feel the urge to reach for something sweet to eat. It’s not always easy to follow your diet when you are craving something high in sugar, like cakes or ice creams.
But there is a way for you to fight the cravings while satisfying your desire to eat something sweet and keeping to your diet plan. There are many naturally sweet food items that will keep you on the straight and narrow.
One of the best substitutes for sweet foods is fruit. Fruit is naturally sweet and contains a healthier type of sugar. The sugars in fruit are easily processed by the body.
Another added plus for fruit is that fruit contains vitamins and nutrients that your body needs. So, by eating a piece of fruit, you are satisfying your sweet tooth and giving your body what it needs.
Depending on the season, there are so many different types of fruits that you can choose from. If tropical fruits are your favorites, you have your choice of many such as pineapples, kiwis and mangoes.
These fruits are abundant during the summer time. In the fall you can find apples and pomegranates. There is a wide variety of fruits to choose from year round.
You can enjoy a piece of fruit on its own or you can add bits of fruit to a salad or main course for added sweetness. There are tons of recipes on the internet that can teach you how to incorporate fruit into a meal.
If you don’t have any fruit in the house, try using a natural sweetener. You can add honey or raw sugar to your drinks and meals. Natural sweeteners are a healthier choice than white sugar and can help when your sweet tooth strikes.
Most people on a diet think that they can get away with using artificial sweeteners in their drinks and with their foods. Artificial sweeteners are definitely not the answer. They are high in sugar and may contain chemicals.
