Sandal Selection

Sandals are among the best buddies for your feet, guys so remember to let them breathe once in a while (yes, even in winter – team them with cool Reebok or Nike socks, if you must – but change these daily and stick with cotton) and let your leather shoes air out a bit when you sun them out a change.

This will ensure good foot hygiene and also reduce the wear and tear of your shoes that you wear daily besides increasing their life.

Cool sandals you can opt for include thongs like Flip-Flops (even Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Brad Pitt have been noticed attending social events wearing their most comfy pair) which are inexpensive and great for the beach, lounging on your balcony with a Pina-Colada (impresses the next-door babes like nothing else, except perhaps a stunner of a car) and go well with well-tailored shorts. Don’t team this style with socks though – that would just be a major fashion flop instead of flip-flop!

Then there are the many varieties of sports sandals, which offer waterproof protection for winter slush and also come with athletic sole traction for better grip besides some with acupressure solutions that massage your feet while you walk; these come in a riot of colours and sober shades for the conventional man, so you can opt for the single ankle strap variety or double cross-over or even the ones with multi-wide cross straps going over the toes for extra support, airiness and chic style.

Both varieties of sandals go well with chinos, jeans and shorts and are great for private wear and public occasions alike; depending on your budget and where you intend to wear them, you can opt for sandals in rubber, polyurethane or vinyl!

Dress Sandals are the hottest footwear trend these days and are a formal version of the sports model, except made in leather with metal buckles instead of rubber and the Velcro strap-ons. Many celebs have been sighted sporting dress sandals with linen suits – so what’s stopping good ol’ you?
