Salman Is Not Romantic

He’s known as the ultimate romantic superstar of Hindi masala movies and made his Bollywood debut with Suraj Barjatya’s ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ in the 80’s, which went on to being one of the greatest mushy movies of all times, introducing the Indian audience to the concept of friends turning lovers. But, his internationally renowned actress-model girlfriend declares him as being ‘unromantic!’
That does come as quite a shocker for fans of Salman Khan, doesn’t it?
Featuring in movies that are primarily about love triangles, love overcoming various social barriers, even forbidden themes like extra-marital love and in a brothel besides unpredictable ones like re-birth, love across borders and a plethora of romantic comedies, it is hard to believe that Salman Khan doesn’t have a romantic side to him. Though girlfriend Katrina, (whom he has recently proposed marriage to, if rumours are to be believed) reiterates “he keeps it all for his movies,” (meaning romantic nature). As they gear up for the release of their forthcoming film ‘Yuvraaj,’ she makes this revelation about Salman in their first joint interview session.
Open about their relationship and making a stunning pair off-screen, Salman-Katrina have kept fans guessing about their future plans since the answer to his marriage proposal to Katrina has not been made public so far.
Even on the score of their individual ideas of romance, they differ vastly as Kats confesses to wanting to go on intimate holiday getaways and candlelight dinners while Salman is a people’s person and hates her cosy twosome ideas, preferring instead ready food awaiting him on a table when he reaches a restaurant and to be surrounded by people!
For a couple that is so obviously diametrically opposite in their outlook towards a life, it isn’t just their fans wondering whether only the chemistry keeps them together. While Katrina is quick to comment “Salman and I had an instant connection when we met,” she also tacks on hastily, “today I cherish a complete personality.”
Guess it pays to be a celebrity with an irreverent style like Salman’s (and the hot bod doesn’t detract either!)
