Often, people do not seem to tide over the weight loss problem due to lack of drive and the killer instinct to lose weight. They cheat on their diet and do not follow it seriously.

When it does not yield results, they drop it half way through. An ineffectively followed diet plan will, of course, not lead o any significant results. It will only result in feeling discouraged and unhappy.

The rule of thumb is to burn more calories than what is consumed. This can happen in 2 ways – restricting intake and by exercising more. The first method can be approached by taking on a diet plan that best suits your body type and needs.

Check out all the diets plans available, analyze and compare them and choose the one that will work best for your lifestyle. A diet does not necessarily mean staying away from all the foods you love.

Your diet should help you accommodate your favorite foods in moderation, so that you do not have the feeling of being deprived. On the same token, do not binge on your food. Enjoy everything in moderation. Learn to enjoy your diet. If you do not enjoy your diet, it will seem more like a chore that you want to avoid.

Increase your water intake manifold. This will rid the body of stored water weight and also increase metabolic activity and speed up fat burn. Drinking cold water in copious quantities helps to speed up the metabolic activity.

Choose a sensible exercise plan to complement your diet. It is wise to have a daily routine, even if it is for 30 minutes a day. Sticking to an exercise plan at least 5 days a week will help you reach your goal.

Choose sets of cardiovascular, aerobic, strength and resistance training exercises to help you lose weight, build muscles and tone them enough to show off a slim body
