Many editorials written for men’s magazines reveal just how prevalent the problem of hair loss is for men. More and more men are developing the problem and are writing in asking for advice on the subject. It is interesting to note that magazines targeted for men are also talking about stress and mental health. These are all inter-related subjects say editors. The one topping the list however is hair loss.
Few men have problems when they are in their growing years, it’s after they cross the 30 year mark that they seem to start seeing problems cropping up. This is a clear indicator that their chemical make up of the body has altered which is the reason for the bodies’ inability to retain good strong healthy hair.
The problem could be as simple as too much smoking. Guess as a smoker you never liked the idea of being told that smoking is the cause of some of your health issues; however, smoking is one of the several causes for loss of hair. Studies reveal that smoking not only increases the levels of hormones that advance hair loss, but is responsible for starving the hair of valuable nutrients.
A good crop of hair is a vital asset and we as men must learn to keep it strong and healthy. Women seem to do a much better job of it then men. This is only because they are more attentive to the issue of keeping their hair looking good. Men on the other hand look at these things as making them appear less macho. So the ego kicks in and they fail to realize the importance of looking after what has been given to them. Tell them to hit the gym and build some muscle for the girls they will gladly oblige, but simply fail to pick up these other equally important issues.
It is time for men to get the whole package of looking after themselves correct. When it comes to hair, it all about finding out what’s good, for your individual hair type. We all have different types of scalps. They range form the very dry ones to the very oily ones. It is important to find out which one you have and then accordingly get yourself the right type of hair care products. In case you have a lot of hair loss as of now, the first thing to do is to stop drying down your hair with a towel. This breaks the hair. It’s never too late to learn.
