New Ways To Fitness
March 25, 2009
These days there is a lot of talk about keeping fit. This is because in our over stretched lives we seem to have lost out on this valuable form of activity. In the days gone by men and women worked and toiled in their field’s day in and day out.
Now with our jet set lives it is all about hopping from cars, to super fast lifts that carry us up all those floors, to sitting on office swivel chairs for over eight hours.
Not to talk about all the fast foods, as we are so stretched for time we do not make our selves health meals, which of course means we have all this excessive fat that we really never bargained for. So keeping healthy and fit has become a big deal in today’s world for all to work towards.
Here is a great way to tone up some great muscles for those who are already into the fitness bug regime. This has come to us straight out of the ‘car pushing’ competition. At the New Mexico State University studies show that this form of exercise adds to athletes over all capacity significantly.
So here is the deal, get along a friend and drive into the country side and find some clear road. Put the vehicle into neutral and then get behind the car.
Now push it for a good 50 meters while your friend stays at the wheel. This will give your body a full and complete workout. Repeat as necessary to get a full workout. Try it; it is a great way to cross train
With all the highs one get off going to the gym one seldom wants to take a break. But new research shows for greater muscle growth it is important to take a good seven days off after every month in training with weight.
So put into your over all plan a rest period there by giving your muscles the chance to recover and grow. It will also give the nervous system a chance to recover.
Another study conducted by James Madison University says that cyclists performed better by as much as 13 percent if they used a protein mix gel. Conventionally a high carbohydrate gel is consumed.
The protein and carbohydrate mixed gel has the advantage as the protein accelerates the carbohydrates into the intestine and energy hungry muscles.
