Michael Jackson Opts Out Of Jackson 5 Reunion
November 12, 2008
Celebrities have always been a contradictory lot and as far as the most famous (or, infamous, as in the case of MJ – what with nose-jobs, skin-peeling treatments, doping charges and parental irresponsibility over suspending his toddler out the window besides the various juvenile sleepover charges he’s been charged with) international pop-star, Michael Jackson is concerned, it’s been a hell of a ride on the entertainment roller-coaster!
While Los Angeles was looking forward to a reunion of the Jackson 5, which was the start of the singing superstar a long time ago when he sang along with his siblings and media reports rife with the famous Motown performers taking to the stage as a family-group once again, Michael Jackson denied the rumours a day after his elder brother Jermaine claimed Michael would be on board with them.
Michael continued to explain that his family had his love and support for anything they did and that he’s had some great moments with them that he cherishes, however, a tour or recording along with them wasn’t on the cards for him just yet.
Aged 50 and making the statement from a studio in Los Angeles where he is said to have been working on a new and exciting set of projects, Michael Jackson’s statement on the Jackson 5 reunion is said to have been credited to an official publicist, known in the entertainment circles as Dr.Tohme. There isn’t much detail available on the person’s identity besides this, so it’s natural that speculation is rampant about the publicity firm that has so far distributed press-statement about the Jackson 5 reunion to the public and whether it is actually Michael making the decisions and statements on not working together with his singing siblings again.
His elder brother, Jermaine Jackson, aged 53, located currently in Australia has clearly stated that the rest of the group (younger sister Janet is said to be performing the opening act) are already working together on the various logistics of music and touring for next years’ Jackson 5 Reunion and that it would include Michael, Randy, Tito, Marlon and self.
(The Jackson 5 last toured in 1984 when Michael Jackson was at the peak of his success).
