Two years back ‘metrosexual’ was a much bantered word. There was so much buzz about it. Men had touched their feminine side because it seemed they were having their nails manicured and face masks were being applied to their faces. Now, is that really so correct? If one were to go into the acting fraternity, I am sure men there have been subjected to this so-called feminine bastion for decades. Well all said and done isn’t it good to see men looking fresh and clean. After all what’s a facial all about?
Facials possibly are rooted to the advent of the fitness culture that has become a big part in the lives of today’s urban youth. Fitness is all about being healthy. Similarly, a facial is about a healthy looking face. This then transgresses into stylized hair, manicures, and even pedicures. The fact that many urban youth are willing to be seen to be having such treatment is an indication that they are willing to drop their egos for what they now realize as essentials to looking their best.
All leading cosmetic companies have come to understand this shift in men’s behavior. There are now targeted products for men exclusive. So from bleach for your face to the right cream for oily skins or dry ones there is a product exclusively for men now available off the shelves. Movies and Television has added the rage of young men wanting to copy their favorite male hero’s in all possible ways. A hair cut sported by one will find many heads wearing it soon after.
So yes to men who know want to keep themselves looking well groomed and smart. What is he doing really? He is only improving his chances in the games of romance and career. The world has always been competitive and this is just one new way of going about it. Men are just as assertive as their predecessors only this is a new form seen in today’s modern 21st century. A clean unblemished skin not only gives the individual a tremendous sense of personal confidence, but the onlooker is made aware immediately of the individual’s commitment to health, hygiene, and cleanliness. Now that’s a good way to start.
