We appreciate the good looks of actors and models in movies, TV shows and on billboards. However we often don’t realize that makeup gets their faces to look bright and glowing under cameras and bright lights. If a model or actor can wear makeup to make their features more pronounced and brighter then why is makeup for average men considered unacceptable?
General Impressions
People definitely react when they see one of their male friends wearing makeup. But there is nothing wrong with men wearing makeup. If women can apply makeup, then men surely can. Nowadays more men are using makeup whether for their profession or to hide some imperfection.
Male makeup
Male makeup doesn’t involve mascara and eye shadows. Instead it consists of special powders and creams that are used to hide defects of the facial skin. They are also used to brighten the facial features. A very important aspect is selecting a powder that blends perfectly with your face. It should look very natural as most people still do not tolerate men wearing makeup.
Practice makes perfect
It is a great idea to practice applying makeup. Practice will eventually perfect your techniques. Try working on your face at home and strive for acceptable results. Your girlfriend or wife may be able to help you achieve a natural look. You may also consider visiting a salon or seeking the help of a professional.
It is important that you try out a few different tones and brands to find the one best suited to your skin color and skin type. Apply the powder precisely so that you don’t miss spots or areas. To avoid any disparity, apply powder on your neck as well.
Remember that acne and facial scars cannot be completely concealed. You can only make them less visible. If you try to make them invisible, then you will need to use a lot of makeup and that will make your wearing of makeup more noticeable to others.
Men should never be ashamed of using makeup or feel that it is off limits. There is nothing shameful about trying to be beautiful. Don’t forget, this is the twenty-first century.
