If you are concerned about the safety of yourself and your family from the oncoming threat of the swine flu – here is some essential advice that just might save your life!

Swine flu – what exactly is it?

If you have been hearing about the swine flu lately and wondering what it is all about, here is the information you need. The swine flu is actually a type of flu that you would normally find in your average pig.

The various symptoms of the swine flu are difficult to differentiate from the regular flu. This makes it difficult for doctors to diagnose people who may be sick with the disease. There are many people infected with the swine flu who have only got a small amount of the possible maximum effect from the disease.

These have been the lucky ones. There are many people who have contracted disease and shown very bad signs of illness. The swine flu can even lead to death. You now know just how dangerous this disease is. So, what can you do to protect yourself and your loved ones from harm?

Do not spread germs! Wear a mask.

If you are worried about an outbreak of swine flu in your area, if you live in a high risk area or you just want to be safe – make sure that you wear a mask when you are sick. The masks that you can obtain are not very different from a normal surgery mask.

They are designed to stop you from spreading the germs to those around you. They are not designed to stop germs from getting in. The mask will not protect you from germs in the air. They will stop you from giving germs to other people. If we all wore these masks more often, there would be much less disease spread via the air.
