How Protein Shakes Build Muscles

Protein is the most sought after intake of dieters and body builders. It helps to build muscle. Muscles are denser than fat and when maintained and toned, they give the body a lean and slim appearance.

Protein can be consumed by way of regular food intake. There are plenty of protein rich foods such as lean meat, fish dairy and poultry products. These provide the necessary dietary intake.

However, it happens that the body does not get all its protein requirements from food alone. Supplements are therefore required to make up for the shortfall in consumption. Supplements can be in the form of powder that can be mixed with any beverage of choice.

An average adult requires about 55 grams of protein in a day; this can be consumed by eating yogurt, egg whites, lean meat and milk. It is recommended to have a protein supplement such as a protein shake at breakfast or as a mid morning or late afternoon snack.

Supplements can also be had in the form of protein bars. It is important to remember to consume adequate quantities of water to aid in effective protein absorption in the body.

Body builders must consciously include protein in their diet. This helps to build muscle. Protein consumption along with a tough exercise regimen helps to build muscles and burn fat effectively.

The amino acids present in proteins aid in promoting muscle, tissue and ligament health. As a result the body does not look chunky and muscular – it assumes a toned and well built look with all the exercises. It gives the body a lean mean look!

The amino acids are known to regulate and stabilize sugar levels. They also help to suppress appetite. This way they place a curb on cravings and reduce intake.
