Healthy Ways to Gain Weight

weightgainWhile many people pine after those that are naturally thin, being underweight is a concern for some people that just can’t seem to gain weight. 

When a person is underweight it means that his weight is not at the level that his height and sex determine it should be.  There are many reasons why a person may be underweight.

Some of these reasons include poor nutrition, not getting enough sleep, the person may be overwhelmed with stress, or he may have a reoccurring illness.

People that are terminally underweight complain just as much as overweight people do about their weight problem.  It seems that no matter what they eat or how often they eat, they just can’t seem to gain weight.

Underweight people think that all they have to do to gain weight is to keep eating but this is not the case; especially if the person is looking to gain healthy weight.

A person who is trying to gain weight should not just eat random snack foods that have no nutritional value.  This article will discuss healthy ways to gain weight.

When trying to gain weight, a person should eat a diet that is high in fruits such as bananas and muskmelon.  These fruits will add some healthy pounds.

Start each day off with a banana milkshake or try to eat at least three bananas daily.  Muskmelon, grapes, apples, and mangoes are other fruits that will add pounds in a healthy way.  Try drinking a glass of warm milk with some honey in it with breakfast.

Dried fruits are another healthy alternative to eat to gain weight.  Try eating some raisins every day.  Soak some dried figs in water during the night and eat them with breakfast the next morning.

Snack on dried fruits such as raisins and figs and eat almonds in between each meal.  Breakfast should consist of bran foods and fruit.  By eating papaya for breakfast it will increase a person’s appetite and help with digestion.

Lunch should include vegetables and fruits.  Dinner should include vegetables and lean meats.  When trying to gain weight, it is important to exercise on a daily basis.  Try to avoid stress and get a good night’s rest.
