The first step is to ensure that you have 6 small meals spread throughout the day. This keeps the metabolic activity up and running. Also, it is important to have a breakfast every morning.

It is not wise to skip breakfast, since it is the most important meal that charges you up and sets the metabolic counter running for the day. Complement this with exercises and voila! You have made a healthy start to your day.

Increase the intake of water to boost metabolism. It improves kidney function. Water consumption also helps the liver to perform effectively by processing and burning fat.

Studies have shown that water helps to improve the metabolic rate – the body needs to use its reserves to heat up the fluid consumption. Also, water consumption quenches thirst and also gives a feeling of being full.

The body gets rid of the excess fluid stores and this reduces fluid weight. Regular water consumption prevents the body from getting dehydrated.

Vegetables, Greens, Citrus fruits, nuts, fish, lean white meat and dairy products are all examples of food that boost metabolic activity. A multivitamin can be added to this equation to derive further benefits. A good mix of all micronutrients is required to keep the body healthy and strong.

A balanced diet and an effective fitness program boost metabolic rate and increase weight loss possibilities.
