Early Life
Fran Drescher was born on 30 September, 1957, in flushing, Queens, New York. She belongs to an Ashkenazi Jewish family of Eastern Europe origin. She was a studious student and was popular in her school. She got her studies from Hillcrest High School in Jamaica, Queens, where she met her future husband, Peter Marc Jacobson. She was raped at gun point in 1985 but she got justice as her rapist was sent to prison.

Career
In 1977, Fran made her debut with “Saturday Night Fever”. After this movie she got small roles in movies. She also played roles in TV serials like Milos Forman’s “Ragtime” in 1981 and the TV hit “Fame” in 1982. Fran wrote her first book named “Enter Whining” in 1996. Fran appeared in some movies in 1989, 1996, 1997 and a movie in 2000. She recently appeared in a movie in 2007.

Achievements
Fran entered the 1973 Miss Teen New York beauty pageant and was runner up in the competition. In 1996, she was named one of the “50 Most Beautiful People in the world” by people’s magazines. Her series “The Nanny” was nominated for the 40 awards which includes two Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations.

Political Career
Drescher is also known to be considering a run for Congress in 2010 against Republican Congressman Peter King. On December 9, 2008, she stated she would like to replace Clinton as New York State Senator, replacing Hillary Clinton.

Married Life
Fran got married with Peter Marc Jacobson in 1978, when she was 21 years old. Both of them were divorced in 1999.
