The chief reasons men set their mind to looking for a new job includes finding stagnation in their present position, (lack of scope for growth) or not being appreciated at work besides being laid off. Sometimes, office politics may be to blame; other times, it’s just the recession or company changeovers that influence job status.
Whatever your personal reason for having to look for a new job, there are ways to minimize the trouble associated with launching a brand new sales strategy (to pitch yourself as the perfect candidate): we cover some of these here to enable you to make a smother shift in your career path.
However, remember, making a habit of shuffling jobs is never looked upon as something desirable in the business world as this reflects lack of commitment; besides, sometimes it can be a long and difficult process.
So, first seek to keep your present occupation and ensure finances are adequate to fund a new job search (e.g. savings or severance pay provided by company etc.) and then evaluate possible new careers.
Secondly, analyze your main professional interests and decide your job requirements, as well as you keep in mind your personal responsibilities (dependants, home loans, medical coverage etc. which are paid for by your job and need to be covered still by the new one better or at least just as well). Remember, no dream job will make you happy if you want get it the cost of your family.
Study both advantages and disadvantages about current profession; also try and figure out what can be changed by you and what you have to hold on to in order to keep a secure and satisfying job.
In the new job profile, check for any known skills you can apply and highlight for the potential employer as transferable skills matter a lot in the professional world; those skills that are applicable to varied industries must always be highlighted in your resume and new job interview session. (e.g. effective Time management, foreign language skills, new certifications with computer software technology etc.).
