Exercises for the Beginner

bodybuildingbeignerA lot of people just starting out in bodybuilding are looking for a beginner plan to build muscle mass. This article includes three exercises for the beginner to start making upper body muscle mass gains. These are just a few of the exercises below.

To build the upper body, chin-ups are a good start. This exercise works all the muscles of the upper body. You use your own body for resistance. This exercise can strengthen and build muscles. Include this exercise in your workout if you want more muscle mass.

Bent over rows works the lats and upper back. This exercise can be done in various ways.  You can do it with an easy bar or a straight bar, with your palms down using a close grip or wide grip. This exercise will help give you a sculpted back.

Push-ups are also great for the beginner. It is one of the top exercises for the shoulders and chest. Push-ups work the deltoids, triceps, and pecs. The push-up is sometimes forgotten in bodybuilding. It is really an essential exercise for the beginner and beyond.

Presses with dumbbells, barbells or on a machine are good for your pecs. You can practice the same exercises on an incline bench. The narrow grip bench press and pec-deck flyes put stress on the pecs.

Dumbbell flyes and cable incline flyes isolate the upper pecs and dumbbell and cable flat bench flyes also work the pecs. No workout is complete without squats. They are an excellent compound exercise that words many muscles at the same time.

These are just a few of the many exercise and variations you can do to exercise your upper body. Include other exercises for your other body parts to get an all over muscular gain and sculpted body. Squats are an excellent compound exercise to work your lower body including your bottom, legs, and back.

Workout at least three times a week with weights. If you are able, do aerobic exercise on alternate days and take one day a week off from exercise completely. Allow 24 hours between each workout. It is during rest that your muscles are repairing themselves and growing.
