Dealing with Acne on the Face
October 14, 2009
Acne on a person’s face can be a very embarrassing and frustrating situation for those who have to deal with the unsightly blemishes and blackheads. People who suffer from facial acne have tried everything from store bought to home remedies to clear up their skin.
Acne tends to surface when a boy or girl enters puberty. It is during this time that their hormones change and cause chemical imbalance in the body. The stores sell all sorts of acne fighting remedies such as soaps to treat andprevent acne and medicated creams.
Some people with acne go to a dermatologist to get prescription antibiotics to treat the skin disorder.
Prescription acne treating medications can be applied topically or taken orally. These drugs tend to have good results for people in any age group.
Adults who suffer from acne have a skin disorder called “adult acne”. Many men and women who are in their mid-to-late years are rushing back to the drugstores and their dermatologists to get help with their acne problem.
Adults with acne suddenly have a flashback to their teenage years when they first encountered acne. You can try to clean your skin a few times each day to limit the amount and severity of your breakouts.
The products that are sold over the counter don’t always work well when treating both adult and pubescent acne problems. It may be best to visit a dermatologist to get prescription medication and treatment.
There are many factors that can cause acne. There are also some steps that you can follow at home to help cut down on the amount of breakouts. One small step is to change your pillowcases regularly.
When you sleep at night the oil from your face is absorbed by the pillowcase and then transferred back to your skin. You should also try to keep your hair off your face and forehead.
Your daily facial cleaning routine should include washing your face before you go to bed. After you wash your face with acne soap and a warm washcloth, clean the skin with an astringent.
This will remove excess oil on your face, neck and other body parts and keep the skin looking fresh. You can also use an exfoliant to treat your skin. By exfoliating your skin, you will remove the dead skin cells that can clog the pores.
Try using a store bought medicated cream that can be massaged into the skin before you go to bed at night. This will prevent excess oil from building up during the nighttime.
