Cocktail Parties–Snacks Drinks And A Restful Weekend Evening
September 15, 2008
Many of us work our fingers to the bone with nary a moment to spare for ourselves. It’s always home at 8 and back up the next morning with just enough time to bathe dress and get to the office. There has to be some way of unwinding and there is nothing more relaxing than a quiet evening with some friends enjoying a cocktail party! Now, at the mention of a party many of us will groan at the thought of putting together with some drinks and food, not to mention the invites that need to go out and then the clothes and stuff. But hey, there is nothing simpler than organizing a cocktail party and all within a couple of hours too!
The first thing about organizing a cocktail party is to remember to keep it simple. Get the word out on a Friday and on a Saturday morning you could start with getting some drinks together. Both hard and soft drinks are to be bought and kept ready. It may be a good idea to get some beer for those who might decide on it at the last moment. Remember to get some Vodka, Whiskey, Scotch, Rum and Gin. Now you don’t have to guzzle it all down in one evening, you will find that a few bottles of the stuff will last you for another party soon.
Then come the mixers. Mixers are drinks you mix with the alcohol to make cocktails and are absolutely indispensable when it comes to cocktail parties so stock up. Get some soda, ale and cola. You must also have some fruit juice as well. Fresh fruit juice make very good cocktails but the bottled ones will serve just as well. The fruit juice, or rather, all the mixers should be kept in the freezer to chill but don’t’ freeze them.
Last of all pay proper attention to the snacks, cocktail parties are incomplete without Pizza and cocktail sausages these are the best starters one could serve. Apart from these you could have some boiled eggs quartered and served with some salt and pepper. Diced mushrooms fried in some butter and served with some pepper and salt are pretty tasty too. Then when everyone is ready to take their drinks ensue that the food is ready to eat so that your guests can eat when they are ready. This makes the cocktail party all the more interesting and fun – and relaxing!
