It is not only what and when you eat that is important to your health but what and when you drink is just as important too. Medical and health experts explain how a guy can get his important quantity of fluids for a healthy lifestyle.

It is no secret that we cannot survive more than a few days without water, in fact, it is impossible for many of us to go through a day without our daily glass of the stuff. Water is the most essential of fluids in our system and the most important drink as well. This important constituent accounts for two thirds of our body weight and is the most important fluid when it comes to regulating our biological processes. The question is that if too much of a good thing is bad then how much water should we actually consume in order not to over do it?

The American Diabetics Association recently published a report in their journal that states that the average guys intake of water should be at least 2.9 liters daily. Women should have slightly less at 2.2 liters per day. The British however, believe that the water intake for both should be 2.5 liters per day. But then they must have arrived at some sort of an average. The British went on to describe that all fluids containing water is included in their statistic. So if you drink tea, fruit juice, coffee, squash etc. it is included as water intake.

It is important to avoid dehydration by drinking enough fluids daily to replace the fluids we lose in our daily schedule through respiration, sweat and urination. The weather is another deciding factor for how much water we drink. A hot day will demand that we drink extra water than a cold day – remember that alcohol has a dehydration effect on us so that drink does not count as fluid intake at all!
