Benefits of Water Aerobics
When we think of aerobics, we tend to think of outdoor activities such as running, walking or bicycling. These are great forms of aerobic activity to keep our body in shape. But there is a new aerobic craze that many people are getting into.
It’s called water aerobics or aqua aerobics. Water aerobics may not be as easy to do as regular aerobics because it requires a swimming pool or other body of water.
However, if you either have a swimming pool in your backyard or have access to a community pool or a fitness facility’s pool then you are ready to get started. Water aerobics is great for anyone of any age or fitness level.
Water aerobics is a great form of exercise because it works all of your muscle groups without the strain of regular aerobics. When you participate in water aerobics, make sure the water is no higher than your chest.
Anything that you do on the land you can do in the water minus the impact levels on your body. Water aerobics is a great choice for people that have injuries or are older.
If you live somewhere where the climate is hot then water aerobics is definitely the way to go. Not only will you get a good workout but you will stay cool from the heat.
At the same time you can work on your tan. Water aerobics includes more than just running in place. If you have a ball, get few people together to play volleyball.
The exercises that you will perform in a water aerobics class are very beneficial. In class you’ll be asked to perform knee bends, resistance activities, running in place, and jumping.
You’ll be working your muscle groups without even feeling it because you are in the water. If you are ready to add a level of difficulty to your workout routine, use some of the equipment that the pool will have.
To sum things up, water aerobics is a new form of exercise that will benefit your health and raise your fitness level. It is just as beneficial as working out on the land.
