Beauty products were synonymous with women. But the concept of beauty products has changed and they are now considered as products for the health of the skin. It is now an accepted fact that even men have exposure of skin and they too need skin care products. Even they desire that their skin should be better and healthy. Here are some basic tips for men to care for their skin.

Understand your skin:

Dermatologists say that the skin of a male has sebaceous gland which is very active and the pores on the skin of men are large ones. These glands produce more oil called sebum. If this oil is not removed, it may block the pores in the skin and it may break the skin. This will affect the health of the skin. Therefore, after washing the face with soap, men should always use an appropriate gel so that the face is protected properly when exposed to sun.

Remove the dirt by exfoliating:

A gentle wash will remove the dirt on the face or on the outer portion of the skin. But the dirt in the pores remains where it is. If it is not removed, it may cause infection of the skin. It is here that the importance of exfoliating comes into picture.  So take a good scrubber which will serve the purpose.  Exfoliating softens the skin and it helps to have a smooth shave as well!

Use good quality moisturizer:

It is essential to protect the skin from the Ultraviolet rays of the sun. For this purpose moisturizer is essentially required. Experts prefer moisturizer with SPF which is very much beneficial for men.  It prevents the skin from dehydrating.

Care for the eyes:

Apply regularly good quality eye cream on the bones near the eyes. This will prevent wrinkles being formed in the eye area. Here again skin specialists prefer use of a cream with SPF. This will also keep the skin around the eyes sufficiently protected.

Care for the lips:

Lip is one area which does not have sebaceous gland and therefore this area does not have any natural oil to protect the skin. Therefore, lip is prone to dryness and it may even crack and bleed due to exposure to sunrays or during severe cold season. This area should be kept sufficiently moisturized. Therefore, use a moisturizer with SPF and that will protect the lip.
