Bachelor’s Kitchen
January 24, 2009
If you have every barged into a bachelor’s flat (I call it a hideout) and checked the fridge and kitchen for some grub or at least the ingredients that could be used to conjure up something that could be eaten, you have definitely been hit by what could be called ‘despair’. The odds are that your bachelor friend may not have anything that can be used to cook a meal with.
For the bachelor who does not want to be in this situation here are some ideas that could be implemented in order to be able to chop up, toss and turn and serve some quick food at the bat of an eyelid.
There are many things that can be cooked up in a minute but you need to be prepared in order to do it in a minute. This means having every thin at hand before hand. Besides you need to be organized.
You need to stock up on some food and gas for cooking. Organize your kitchen space with the implements placed within easy reach and kept washed and clean ready to use. Doing this will save a lot of time. Clean up every time you finish using your cooking implements
Stack up on soups. This is the best and fastest way to dub out those hunger pangs. In fact make two servings of soup when you do and keep one serving for later. This could serve as a snack at a later time.
If you have leftovers, take good care of them. Place them in smaller utensils and keep them in the fridge. These can be made into very delicious full meals later. Some bread and leftover vegetable can make a great full meal for the next day. This leads to a lot of saving on time and money too.
Keep a stock of canned food all the time. Baked beans and processed meats, if you eat meat, are great for making up something to down in a matter of minutes.
It may be a good idea to keep a day in the week and plan you r cooking. Make things that can be stored for a day or two. Then you don’t have to worry for a couple of days at least. The remaining days you can survive on processed canned foods.
If all our bachelor’s give it some thought they will arrive at the conclusion that they can eat healthier, ore economically and at their own leisure if they learn to cook and get their kitchen organized.
