A Close Shave

It is important to follow some expert advice if you don’t already, to avoid suffering cuts and bruises and get that soft baby feeling after a shave – a close shave!
If you are prone to developing in growing hair and suffering from razor burns when you shave every morning it is high time you tried to shave in the shower. The hot steam from the flowing hot water will open the pores of the skin and soften the skin and moustache better than the splash of warm water you throw on your face before a shave. Once you have conditioned your skin, and allowed the bath water to work on it while you shower, you are ready to apply the soap and razor.
When you do begin to raze off the unwanted hair it is best that you practice shaving along the growth and not against it as many guys do. The importance of a second shave is well known to many especially your barber – and now the razor companies are including this knowledge in their products too – notice how many twin blade razors are in the market? However, even a three blade razor will not be as effective as a second lather and shave immediately after the first one.
When you shave your moustache it is best that you shave against the grain or side ways for the best results. Oh yes, always try to use an unscented shaving cream, scented creams almost always have alcohol and this serves to dry the skin. Now why would you want to do that if you will apply moisturizer after your shave? Which brings us to the after shave applicants. Use a moisturizer that is free from any scent and should preferably have a natural oil base. If you use a body perfume then lay off the scented after shave disinfectants – use alum instead or try to get yourself an after shave lotion that will not dehydrate your skin.
If you have the time, try to exfoliate before you shave. This will only take half a minute and will lift the stubble to give you a closer shave. Prepare yourself with some oil applicant to ensure a smooth shave. Lather yourself well for a couple of minutes for a better shave then have the shave that will last you the whole day!
