There is nothing like the view of a beautifully lit night sky from a rooftop to really make you appreciate the beauty of a city and its landmarks. From Chicago to New York and across the seas, there are many wonders of the sky to enjoy.
Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder when it comes to what is admired in skylines. For some it is truly the awe of a horizon with mountains carving a beautiful architecture in the night sky. While there are technical measures used to determine what makes a notable skyline, for many people they are more concerned with the beauty and landmarks than with the visual vertical impact index. There are some characteristics that make for beautiful and popular skylines:
· Visual Vertical Impact Index
· Height
· Density
· Style and Organization
· Feats and Marvels
· Uniqueness
· Surroundings
Typically, a skyline is classified by the visual vertical index which is based on structures that measure up and leave a vertical imprint in the sky. Skyscrapers have their name for a reason – they are a pivotal part in the skyline view. It is these artificial structures that leave a beautiful impact in the horizon.

Are you kidding?? Bangkok’s not on the list. I’ve been to most of the cities you mentioned.. Bangkok should be definitely in the top 15. That place mad, it like a jungle of concrete with the number of skylines of sydney and melbourne combined..:{
I’m not from New York, but I think it is best skyline in the U.S., hands down. I can’t believe that Pittsburgh and Atlanta are even mentioned. And I’m not from there either, but what about Miami??!!! Miami has one of the longest skylines in the U.S., many views over water and lit up buildings and bridges. I am shocked that it did not make this list.
how did u say that??????
a lot of asian cities with greater skylines never mentioned……….
……
BANGKOK
MANILA
BUSAN
OTHER CHINA CITIES…
