If, a straight man claims he is not fascinated with breasts, you know he is lying. There’s not a man who when passing a woman with a large-bosom will not take a quick look at them. The question remains: Why? The answer is just as simple. Men like breasts with some even obsessed with them. So, what makes breasts so appealing?
Coming in varying shapes and sizes, they are designed for to be purely utilitarian in purpose. However, cultures around the world have worshipped them since the dawn of time, and there is no question that female breasts have acquired an unusually prominent place in our society. The answers behind the root of men’s double-D-sized fixation will take you by surprise.
Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, men find breasts calming. Soft and welcoming, they remind men of the halcyon days when they were cuddled by their mothers and protected against the harsh realities and savage knocks of life.
Symbols of fertility, breasts define femininity and hint at a woman’s ability to breed, nurture and sustain life. According to research, men are attracted to large breasts of the shapely variety, because they are indicative of a strong constitution and an ability to further propagate the species.
Key factor in arousing women. Closely connected to a woman’s primary libidinal zone, proper handling of breasts can bring women to a state of heightened sexual arousal.
Men require visual stimulation. Unlike women aroused just by reading a single passage in a Harlequin romance novel, men require visual stimulation. Hardly surprising then those perfect, perky breasts are at the receiving end of their obsessive attention.
Societal pressure. One of the primary reasons men get obsessed with breasts is the way society encourages their fixation. Pick up any magazine and you are bound to see more cleavage on paper than on the streets. The same is true of bus advertisements, fashion catalogues and all manners of marketing material.
Breasts carry the allure of being taboo. The erotic allure of breasts is further heightened by the fact that they are supposed to be kept covered and hidden away. TV actor and comedian, Jerry Seinfeld correctly pointed out, if women kept their heads covered instead of their breasts, everyone would be heading down to the corner store to pick up the latest copy of Heads Illustrated. It is human nature to always want what one cannot have, and breasts being the ultimate forbidden fruit, men go on to become obsessed with them.
Keeping abreast of the issues. Often, men are accused of speaking to a woman’s breasts rather than her face. But, how are they to blame for the fact that their attraction to breasts is simultaneously physical, psychological and societal.
So, instead of making such a fuss about men’s obsession with breasts, perhaps, we should be making a celebration of them!
