It is said that we have about 100,000 hairs on the scalp. The hair is divided into two parts: the follicle and the hair shaft. The sebaceous gland is attached to the follicle. It gives the hair its shine and moisture by producing a natural lubricant called sebum.

The sebum also prevents the hair from drying out or absorbing excessive amount of external substances. Depending on the amount of sebum, the hair will be dry, greasy or normal.

Healthy and shiny hair is considered to be very beautiful. Healthy, shiny hair reflects light and falls around the face beautifully. To get shining hair, you must not only be bothered about outward application. You must also take care of your diet. Your diet should be rich in proteins.

Proteins are plentiful in milk, cheese, fish and meat. You should also drink plenty of water if you need to have shining hair. Another way to make your hair shine is to eat plenty of fruits, especially citrus fruits, and lots of vegetables, especially carrots, as they are rich in vitamin A. Whole grains, beans and lentils are also good for your hair.
