When it comes to buying things for a nursery, you are at a fix not knowing what to buy. The question that comes to mind is what is safe for your child. You have below some guideline for setting up a great nursery for your child.
A theme
There are lot of things to buy on the market. But the problem that comes is which colour combinations to choose. This should be determined by the sex of your child. You may go for dull colours like pale yellow, green, and cream.
You can also go for bright colours such as red, blue and yellow. There are endless combinations available. What you should be thinking about is how the whole place will look like in the future. Will it be possible to update it or will it expire?
Make a list
You have to make a list of what is needed for the nursery. The following items are very necessary.
A cot
This is where your baby will sleep. It demands the right choice to be made. Your baby will be sleeping in the same room with you for the first six months you need a cot into which you can put your baby easily. When you choose a cot with all-round slats will give you a good view of your baby all the time.
Changing table
You need a table which is well cushioned with a wipeable mat. Near this should be a bin where you can put used nappies.
Chest drawers
This is useful for storing all the little things you keep in the room.
Comfy chair
You sit here to breastfeed during the night. A rocking chair will be great but not very safe. Make sure it has good padding because it will be used frequently.
Decorate the room.
You might paint the room anew or use wall paper. The decoration used should balance with the theme you choose. Most parents prefer carpet on the floor for their children. This makes the floor more comfortable for the knee during crawling.
Safety first
This should be your rule. Paint the room about 3 months before the arrival of the baby to avoid him inhaling paint fume. The cot should be far from radiators.
