What is and how to treat Athletes Foot

Some of you might be asking well what is exactly Athlete’s foot or how do you get it or who can get it? Let’s start off by describing what it is. Athlete’s foot can start out on your toes and move on to your feet. It’s a fungal skin infection.
Athlete’s foot is not really a dangerous thing. It’s treatable if you take care of yourself. Did you know that it can spread? For example if you sit there and scratch your affected areas like toes or foot and then touch your armpit it can spread there. It isn’t really a dangerous disease or anything. It’s more of an annoying thing where it itches like crazy. It likes to create in places that are warm, dark and are moist areas.
It’s not only for the feet or foot area, but that is the most common place for it to start. You might be wandering who can get it; well it’s most common in young adults and teenagers that are athletic.
Symptoms of Athlete’s Foot
Some of the symptoms that you can look for if you think that you might have it are the following. First and foremost, if you find yourself constantly itching. That is usually one of the first symptoms to look for. If you don’t find yourself really itching a lot but you see blisters that break or perhaps redness in between the toes that might be another sign that you do indeed have Athlete’s foot. If you notice scaly or cracked skin that could also point to Athlete’s foot. Don’t panic but let an adult know that you might have it and let someone else see if they think its Athlete’s foot and if it’s severe enough then you need to get yourself to a doctor. If it’s not that severe then there are other ways to treat it besides going to the doctor.
Treatments
There are several over-the-counter treatments that can be used to cure Athlete’s foot. You have a variety of treatments to choose from, such as sprays, creams and powders. Some of you might choose a spray so that you can just spray it and get on with your day or you might choose the powder or a cream. It’s completely up to you. They all work and can be cured, so just be certain that it’s nothing to serious and is curable.
