Weight loss surgery reduces the amount of food you can eat by reducing the size of your stomach or bypassing your stomach. There are several main type of surgery that can help you to lose weight and main weight loss. There include:

Your consultant surgeon will assess your individual needs and risks and discuss which option would be right for you to get the best results. Weight loss surgery treatments are clinically proven to work, with excess weight loss of up to 50% with gastric bands and up to 60% with gastric bypasses after two years.

If you’re very overweight and can’t lose pounds with a healthy diet and exercise, Weight loss surgery might be an option for you. The surgery is usually for men who are at least 100 pounds overweight and women who are at least 80 pounds overweight.

If you are somewhat less overweight, Weight loss surgery still might be an option if you also have diabetes, heart disease or sleep apnea. Weight loss surgery limits the amount of food you can take in. Some operations also restrict the amount of food you can digest. Many people who have the surgery lose weight quickly. If you follow diet and exercise recommendations, you can keep most of the weight off. The surgery has risks and complications, however, including infections, hernias and blood clots.

This results in the ability to control your hunger and achieve a “feeling of fullness,” or satiety. Ultimately, you eat much less and should feel full sooner. A key component of the Lap-Band System is its adjustability. The band is connected to a port, which enables the device to be inflated over time to expedite the weight loss.

The body lift, also known as a belt lipectomy or lower body lift, improves the appearance of the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks.
