- Study of the location for the wedding in advance is a must for a photographer, whether professional or a beginner. Sometimes there is more than one location. Study these locations to know how they will appear at different times of the day. You can also ask the couple to accompany you to the location for some test shots, so that you get a clear idea about the results.
- Light is very important for photography. If it’s an indoor event, make sure you have enough lights, while on the outdoor shoot, take care of the harsh sunlight as it can ruin the photographs.
- Clicking photographs in one angle will give you boring results. Be bold and experiment with new variations in angles, so that you can capture the perfect angle at the right moment.
- Make the couple feel at ease so that you can get good shots. It happens sometimes that the couple is stressed and nervous. Ensure they are at ease when you take their photos. Ultimately you will get beautiful pictures. Also make the guests feel comfortable and avoid getting forced shots.
- Besides the subject, the background also does matter a lot. You will have to think in advance and anticipate possibilities. If you are not getting the correct background, ask the subject to move few steps to achieve the perfect angle.
Always discuss the expectations of the clients with them. You will know what you have to achieve. Go ahead and experiment as much as you can. Afterall photography is all about creativity.
