From the moment your guests step into the Church or wherever your ceremony is being held, that is their first impression of your wedding. Often, guests arrive early and have time to sit and wait for the ceremony to begin, during this time they will be casting their eyes around to see how you have decorated and noticing what you have or have not done.
There are a lot of simple ways you can decorate in your wedding ceremony. The decorations do not have to be elaborate or expensive, and often it is best to keep the wedding ceremony decorations to a minimum, as to not take away from the bride and groom. One simple way you can do this is to bring the focus of your guests up the aisle and to the altar when you are proceeding in.
By tying bows and ribbons along the seats all the way up the aisle, it will bring the focus and attention up the aisle to the altar. At the altar, you want to keep things simple, but a little bit of beauty can have a big impact. Choosing fresh flower bouquets to match your bouquet and that of the attendants is a great way to dress up the altar area.
Candles are also a great way to add a touch of elegance and beauty and soften the look of the ceremony. Besides the unity candle that the bride and groom light, it is also a great idea to add some taper candles around the altar area, these make for a very nice feel to the ceremony, and also are great for soft photographs. The shadows cast by the candles are illuminating the beauty of the bride and groom and the vows they are making.
When you are ready to walk down the aisle and say I do, let your ceremony location echo the beauty of the day and the event by adding a few elegant and classy wedding ceremony decorations.
