Confidence plays a very important role in expressing your character to people. It depends on your confidence levels to make people like you and your work. No matter how hard working you may be, but lack of confidence would bring all the credentials to a lower position.
Speaking in a huge crowd or in front of many can be a tough job for many, but it is always better not to show your nervousness to the audience or the public whom you are facing. The more you get tensed, the more it is clearly visible in your actions, words and gestures. So try and maintain cool before any talk or meeting.
It is the confidence in your voice that impresses the public. Always make sure that your speech must be clear, audible and confident for you to achieve success in life.
There are many tips to gain confidence. The first and the foremost are preparing oneself to present. If you are completely and thoroughly prepared about the topic on which you have to speak, fifty percent of the work becomes easier. Never be overconfident and assume that you know things, this would make the presentation into a really big mess.
The gestures that you show while talking. It is very important to maintain a relaxed posture where you will feel comfortable. Your vital statistics must never come between your professions, since that would put the confidence levels down. No matter how fat, thin, pretty, ugly, fair, dark you are, it is not the appearance that matters but it is the quality of the speech and the person that matters. So be confident of what you are and automatically the voice gets a shape and you gain more and more confidence as you speak.
A rehearsal before the actual presentation would really help. Gather friends and do a mock. Try and find out where you lie behind. Be open to comments from friends because that is the only way you could improve.
Always dress in attire in which you are comfortable. This also gives you the ease to face people confidently. Make sure that your outfit suits your personality and go for cool and pastel colors or darker colors when you have to present something never opt for light colors since that may fail to make an impression on the audience.
