Typhoid Fever

What is typhoid fever and its cause? Typhoid fever is caused by a bacteria agent, called Salmonella typhi, which spreads through unclean food and water or through unclean human interaction with a person infected by this disease.
What are the symptoms and stages of typhoid fever? There are three stages of typhoid fever, called the first stage, the second stage and the typhoid stage, with all three stages having different types and levels of symptoms.
In the first stage of the disease, a person would experience symptoms, like high fevers of 103 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, mild to severe headaches, chronic fatigue or weakness, sore throat, diarrhea or upset stomach, having rashes on some parts of the body, having stomach pains and having a sore throat.
The children that have typhoid fever usually have diarrhea, while the adults are more likely to be heavily constipated. Rashes may also appear in the second week of the illness and usually appear as rose-colored spots on the lower chest and upper stomach of the sufferer. The rashes usually last between 2 to 5 days.
In the second stage of the disease, a person would suffer symptoms like, having a continued high fever, diarrhea or severe constipation, dramatic weight loss and having an extremely upset stomach. In the third and final stage of the disease, called the typhoid stage, a person would suffer symptoms, such as they would become very delusional, lie down in a motionless state and with their eyes in a half-closed position, known as the typhoid state. At this point, the disease can become life-threatening and if the infected person does not seek medical help for this disease, the person may die.
Typhoid fever can be treated through several options, including the use of supportive therapy, in which an infected person would drink clear fluids and eat clean and healthy foods to help get rid of the illness and taking antibiotic resistant drugs, but the only known method for treating typhoid fever is through the use of antibiotic drugs to kill Salmonella bacteria that cause typhoid fever.
