Tips to Gradually Changeover to Healthy Food
It is very difficult to keep eating only healthy food. When we see cakes, donuts, pastries etc., it is very hard to control our temptation. But how to actually give up the junk food, and shift to consuming food that does not have much sugar in it? Here are some ideas, as to how you can make that transition to have a better life.
Anything, when done as team instead of doing alone, works out well. So you and your friend can help each other in the changeover. Like, when you are very tempted to have a pastry, your friend can just pull you away from that place.
Also, you and your friend can plan and eat together, so that you can have a check on what each of you is eating. This way, it is more of fun and you both will also be eating the right food.
A punishment or reward system works any day. Children are mostly trained in this system. For instance, you tell your child, “clean your room and you get one dollar”.
Or something like, “if you go out in the night, you will not get the car”. Similarly, you too can follow that system. For example, if you have consumed only low glycemic food for a week, reward yourself.
Go get a dress which you wanted to get for long, or get a nice leg massage or a spa or do something for yourself, which will make you very happy.
Similar to any other habit, quitting junk food in a jiffy is difficult for a lot of people. Some people can take the changeover immediately, where as some find it very difficult.
If you belong to the second category, then it is good if you make a gradual and not a sudden change over. Say for instance, if you have pastries daily, then gradually reduce it to once in two days, then three days, then once in a week and so on.
This way your body also gets acclimatized to the change. And one day, without you realizing it, you will succeed in giving up junk food.
But a piece of advice before changing your diet – Consult you doctor first, because you will not know what your body needs. Ask him what you need to avoid and what you need to add in your diet, to be healthy.
