Eyelash mascara is a popular makeup item nowadays. There are many different types, brands and colors of mascara available in the market. However, it is important to choose the right mascara and learn how to properly apply the product.
Choosing the right eyelash mascara
Black mascara is the most common color shade used by women today. It suits all colors and skin types. There are many other shades available that look like black from a distance but from up close look like a completely different color.
The shades may be dark brown, grey and or dark blue hues. Always look for waterproof mascara which stays in place all day long, even in rain and wind, and does not smudge.
Brown colors suit women who are blond because their eyelashes are already very light colored.
It is important to match the eyelash mascara with the color of your hair. For a more natural look, choose mascara that is just a bit darker than your natural hair color.
Choose the right type of mascara for the right occasion. Black and brown mascaras are well suited for formal occasions while other colors are recommended for casual outings.
Get the right brush
Shorter and thinner brushes are easier to use. Longer, thicker brushes may be hard to handle.
Using a curved brush makes it easier to apply the mascara to the eyelashes than straight brushes.
Other basic tips
Use a curling mascara to bend and lengthen the eyelashes. This makes them more noticeable.
Apply mascara from the bottom base of the eyelashes and move upward to the tips. Lashes will look shorter if mascara is not applied to the tips. They will also look odd if the base is left uncovered.
An eyelash comb can be used to separate the lashes and remove clumps. This will improve the overall appearance of the eyelashes.
The application brush should be cleaned often. Do not wait for the first coat of mascara to dry out before applying the second coat. Instead, apply the second coat of mascara while the first coating is still wet on the lashes. Mascara dries out after a three to four month period, so do not use it once it has partially dried out.
